We took a trip to the beach a couple of weeks ago.
The kids were somewhat grumpy with each other, and Chris and I were tired, so eventually John got them involved in something productive: catching tiny little crabs.
That occupied the older three for a good long time.
Abigail cheered them on, but she didn't seem all that interested in catching them herself.
She did enjoy making sand angels with the other kids, though. (This is what one is reduced to when one lives in a city that gets no snow.)
As is common, the seven of us stayed until sunset.
