Anvil Retreat

Pictures from our church retreat on Anvil Island in early June.

Loading the gear onto the water taxi.  We had two boats (each holds 40 people), and the ride is about 40 minutes long each way.

Some of the parents took the kids fishing off the dock.  There are fun little fishing rods made of sticks, string for the line, and, well, normal hooks.  The kids used mussels as bait.

Sam was excited to be the first kid to catch a fish, and on his first try, no less!

The kids picked salmonberries and huckleberries at various points on the weekend.

We also saw bald-eagles and deer on the island, among other things.

It was a really good weekend.  The kids had a blast, and the adults did too.
